Not an aunt/uncle, friend, or grandparent.
A real, teenage girl, sitter.
Being newbies, we didn't know how much to pay her. I did some research and hopefully she doesn't feel like we skunked her. There's nothing like spending hours at someone's house and then being paid with M&Ms, true story!
Max slept the whole time while she was here; so it was a no risk, no stress situation. Precisely what Christopher could handle. This was a BIG deal to him. In actuality, I can't believe he let it happen. At one point he said we would just bring Max with us.

Plus, it's a good baby step for when we leave Max for SEVEN days. Yes, that's right, just Christopher and I are going here . . .

I sure hope the warm sand and ocean breeze ease my worry of being away from Max. I have never been away from him for more than 24 hours.

Jon is the same way with getting sitters, we got a nanny for a couple of hours in Cancun while P was sleeping and it was almost not worth the worry. You will love your couples vacation, it's great to get away for a little bit.
Fun times...hope you enjoy your vacation! When do you go? Who does Max get to stay with? I love all his silly faces below and the cute valentine stuff you did with him!
That's great you got a sitter. You need to do that once in a while. Probably a few more times before you do leave him for a week, but when he is awake. Your vacation sounds fun. I wish I was going somewhere.
